Doctor Rockit's Cafe de Flore

I am a huge Hotel Costes fan, and this is one of my favourites from the Hotel Costes albums. This one is specifically from Hotel Costes Quatre.



The added significance is that I've actually had dinner once at Cafe de Flore in Paris with 3 friends, and it was a lovely evening of great food and drinks and people watching, and enjoying the je ne sais quoi of Parisian living. I personally feel that this piece of music, the beats, the undertones perfectly captures the atmosphere at Cafe de Flore.

Sartre - the granddaddy of existentialism, a key figure in the Resistance and a renowned cafe sitter, often visited the Flore during World War II. Wearing a leather jacket and beret, he sat and wrote his triology Les Chemins de la Liberte (The Roads to Freedom). Camus, Picasso and Apollinaire also frequented the Flore.
